Get the Most Out of the I-CAMZ streaming page
The I-CAMZ streaming page is built to provide a lightning-fast streaming experience. Using additional streaming software is not required and may slow down your stream. Review the streaming-quality tips before adding extra encoder software.
Lighting
Good lighting is important, and not just so viewers can see you. Many cameras don’t work efficiently in low light, causing grainy images and lower framerates. Flattering lighting can also make your stream pop out! Use the tips on this Lighting Guide page to make sure you look your best.
Stream over a strong connection
When streaming on desktop, we recommend you connect your computer to your router or modem using an Ethernet cable. A wired connection will be faster and more reliable than a wireless one.
When streaming on a mobile device, make sure you’re using a strong wi-fi signal and aren’t streaming over mobile data.
Close unnecessary applications
Video streaming is a complicated process that requires many system resources. Running other programs or apps while you stream can take up vital resources and may affect your quality. Close unnecessary tasks to let your computer or mobile device focus on streaming.
Perfect Profile Pictures
When a viewer visits your profile, a great biopic can help you stand out. Upload a high-quality profile image that helps give a strong first impression!
During a live desktop stream, you can use Session Snapshots to show browsing viewers your current appearance (these images must be appropriate for Guest Chat). When your video quality is great, these images look great too! Use snapshots to strike a pose or show off toys and other objects to spark interest in your show.
Check your internet, camera, and computer
The equipment you use to stream can make a big difference to your quality. Use the Checking Your Streaming Equipment page to find out more about your current internet, camera, and computer. You can compare your equipment to our recommendations. If you decide you want to upgrade, there are tips to help you know what to look for.

Frequently Asked Stream Quality Questions
What factors determine my stream quality?
Several factors affect how your video looks to your viewers, including your current video resolution, bitrate, framerate, and round trip time (RTT). the I-CAMZ streaming page is able to monitor these factors and automatically adjusts your stream so it looks its best and stays connected.
How can I check my current stream quality?
When streaming on desktop, you’ll see a Stream Quality section on the left side of the I-CAMZ streaming page. (You must be using the I-CAMZ streaming page in the default Web Encoder mode.)
Green numbers means you’re doing great! Occasional dips to yellow are expected, but if you’re seeing lots of red, there may be a problem.
My Stream Quality is frequently low. What can I do?
If your stream is experiencing quality issues or the Stream Quality section numbers are often red, you can try limiting your video quality. This should result in a stream that isn’t as sharp, but is smoother to watch and gives your members a better experience.
On the I-CAMZ streaming page for desktop, open the Settings menu. Under “Video Quality,” change your video settings to “Up to 720p.” Try another stream and see if you and your viewers notice a difference.
I’m using additional streaming software. Is it really hurting my video quality and speed?
Due to advancements in streaming technology, the I-CAMZ streaming page is able to deliver lightning-fast video speed that reduces the delay between you and your members.
When you use additional streaming software to alter your stream, it uses up system resources which result in slowing down the I-CAMZ streaming page’s ability to deliver your video quickly. This results in a longer delay that is especially noticeable during Cam2Cam interactions.
Streaming software can be a powerful tool, but is not required for a smooth stream. We recommending most creators stream without any additional software. You can read more here.
